Managing Partner

Jayant Kumar is the Managing Partner of the Firm, with a practice focused on intellectual property law, litigation and arbitration.

He has extensive experience in enforcement actions and litigation involving trademark infringement and passing off, trade name disputes, false advertising, trademark dilution and debasement, domain name disputes, copyright infringement and related rights, piracy, misappropriation of confidential information, breach of confidentiality, misrepresentation, unjust enrichment, cybersquatting, unfair trade practices and anti-competitive practices. He also advises and represents clients in litigation involving patent infringement and invalidity, design piracy and other areas of intellectual property law.

Jayant has successfully represented several domestic and international clients in domain name dispute resolution proceedings under the INDRP and UDRP. He has also served as a Sole Arbitrator in more than 25 domain name dispute complaints.

He works closely with clients to devise effective and robust enforcement strategies, which may include enforcement litigation before various forums, conducting use and entity investigations, drafting and issuing legal notices, conducting raids in coordination with local officials, recording intellectual property rights with Customs authorities, and issuing notices to Internet Service Providers (ISPs), among other measures. He also advises clients on negotiation strategies, the prospects of achieving favourable and commercially viable settlements, and licensing arrangements. In addition, he assists clients in drafting undertakings and settlement agreements.

Jayant has also served as a Visiting Faculty member at the Indian Institute of Sustainability, Gujarat University, during the academic years 2022–23 and 2023–24.
